Firstly we take a history, and using a battery of tests, assess your symptoms. We use these to help determine the cause of your hand & arm pain and injury or dysfunction.
We then devise a treatment plan with you. The treatment techniques and programs we use are based on the latest research and evidence available.
We target your treatment plan to meet your individual goals.
Our hand therapist keeps up to date with the latest skills and techniques by attending national and international (currently on hold) conferences regularly. By attending courses and reading hand therapy literature.
Accredited Hand Therapists are Occupational Therapists or Physiotherapists who have undertaken extra post graduate studies targeting assessment & treatment of hand and arm injuries and conditions. That means we have an in depth knowledge about the anatomy of the hand & arm and how to treat it when required. Our experience and learning in the field of hand therapy is recognised by the internationally respected Australian Hand Therapy Association, and Hand Therapy Certification Commission in the USA.
Certified Hand Therapists have proven high level internationally recognised and evidence based clinical and theoretical knowledge in the assessment and treatment of hand & arm injuries & conditions. They have passed a stringent examination, and continue to develop their professional knowledge and skills by demonstrating participation in formal professional development through a recertification process. Our hand therapist has successful re certified as a Certified Hand Therapist in 2019.
